National Art Honor Society
The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) is a program specifically for high school students’ grades 10-12, with the purpose of inspiring and recognizing those students who have shown an outstanding ability in art. The NAHS strives to aid members in working toward the attainment of the highest standards in various artistic media, and to bring art education to the attention of the school and community.
To become a member of the National Art Honor Society, students must complete an application and maintain an A average in their Art coursework, prior to bonus points or extra credit. Student disciplinary history also factors into membership consideration. All members are required to assist with the set-up and take-down of the two annual art shows that are presented at the school. Members are also expected to participate in and assist with any other artistic activities that are requested of the art department by either the school or community.
To become a member of any honor society, the student must participate in their respective induction ceremony.
